Born in Romania in 1977, this young artist’s work is described as eerily enigmatic, with a growing reputation since his paintings burst into the art world during 2005. His work has a cinematic type quality, with intricately structured and dramatically lit paintings making him standout as one of the major new art prospects of the moment.

Bas is an American artist based in Miami. Born in 1978 achieved critical acclaim for his early work, with romantic and melancholic themed work, with many 19th century literally references. Bas’ vision and highly personal style have marked him out as an original and highly fine artist.

Alistair Frost

Born in the U.K. in 1981, Frost is a multi-disciplined artist who is best known for his critically acclaimed paintings. His early work was abstract in form, however it did contain visual markers that are recognizable, these include everyday objects to symbols and graphics. His more recent work has combined examples of pure abstract style with his early loose style, filling his designs with space and light.

Volker Hueller

Hueller is one of the latest acclaimed German painters, working in abstract and semi-figurative styles. Why Rolf Harris paintings are so collectable

Born in 1930 and originally from Perth, Western Australia, Rolf Harris has gone on to become a beloved Television personality, musician and artist. He is known for his musical performances including ‘Tie me kangaroo down, sport’ and his famous ‘Jake the peg’ routine. He is also known for playing a variety of unique and different instruments including the didgeridoo, wobble board and Stylophone. In the 1960s he became a popular television personality, presenting Rolf’s Cartoon Club, Animal Hospital and a range of programmes on serious art. Throughout his career he has won many awards and given many accolades, including a CBE and has been made and honorary member of the Royal Society of British Artists.

Although he has had an incredible Television career, his first love was painting and at school always wanted to be an artist. Indeed he raised the money he needed for his ‘gap’ year through a number of exhibitions of his work. When he arrived in Britain he enrolled at Londons City and Guilds Art School, with a desire to become a portrait painter. The shows he presented on art have become the most watched art shows in BBC history, and culminated in the documentary of his portrait of the Queen.

Due to his incredible career, including the Rolf on Art series watched by over 7 million viewers, it is likely that his paintings and prints are like to keep increasing in value. During the 1990’s there were Rolf Harris originals selling for approximately £8,000, however they have been selling now for six figure sums. One Rolf Harris painting called ‘Lovers on the Seine’ was valuated at over £100,000.
